2/1/12: Heart Gift Auction Raises $7,000
Chip and Anita Hough from San Antonio were the highest biddders for the guitar & wine package. The auction was a part of the Opening Night Soiree of the first annual San Antonio Cocktail Conference, a gathering of top bartenders for four days of education seminars, guided tastings and cocktail parties. The Conference was organized by Chef Mark Bohanan, owner and executive chef of Bohanans Restaurant & Bar. "[We] are truly honored by this generous gesture from Jonathan and Journey, said Bohanan. This guitar is an amazing piece of memorabilia that anyone would be fortunate to have in their collection. And its even more meaningful because all proceeds benefit such an incredible cause.
Conference proceeds benefitted HeartGift San Antonio, a foundation that brings children from around the world to the U.S. for surgery to correct life-threatening heart defects. In San Antonio, pediatric heart surgeons Dr. John Calhoon and Dr. Adil Husain perform HeartGift surgeries at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children's Hospital in conjunction with a team of medical professionals from the area. All medical services are donated free of charge.
