A Journey-autographed guitar, poster and a magnum of our wine Grand Finale raised $7,000 last weekend for HeartGift San Antonio.

Chip and Anita Hough from San Antonio were the highest biddders for the guitar & wine package. The auction was a part of the Opening Night Soiree of the first annual San Antonio Cocktail Conference, a gathering of top bartenders for four days of education seminars, guided tastings and cocktail parties. The Conference was organized by Chef Mark Bohanan, owner and executive chef of Bohanan’s Restaurant & Bar. "[We] are truly honored by this generous gesture from Jonathan and Journey,” said Bohanan. “This guitar is an amazing piece of memorabilia that anyone would be fortunate to have in their collection. And it’s even more meaningful because all proceeds benefit such an incredible cause.”

Conference proceeds benefitted HeartGift San Antonio, a foundation that brings children from around the world to the U.S. for surgery to correct life-threatening heart defects. In San Antonio, pediatric heart surgeons Dr. John Calhoon and Dr. Adil Husain perform HeartGift surgeries at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children's Hospital in conjunction with a team of medical professionals from the area. All medical services are donated free of charge.

Hosted by Stanley Tucci, produced by WNET, NYC
... Jonathan told VINE TALK. “There’s a lot of music that goes into winemaking,” Jonathan says. “Wines and grapes are handled with a rhythm…The gravity of the whole thing is like a waltz.” Jonathan says his favorite part of winemaking is crush—the process of squashing the grapes—and looks forward to being in California during that time with his Journey bandmates this year. He also lists the people he’s met and worked with as a favorite part of his hobby. “The people on the winemaking path I find are spectacular,” Jonathan says. “What keeps me going is admiration.”

The pinot noirs are what got ELV’s attention, but Cain’s Finale cab is a keeper too.
